Asuquo Ekpeyong Jnr always takes the lead
Celebration of our culture and heritage
By Archibong Hashbury
This year’s annual cultural outing held yesterday, 28th January. It had an unprecedented record of youth numbering well over 20,000 marching through the ancient city of Calabar.
Like previous years, this year’s event was also proudly sponsored by the APC Senatorial Candidate for Cross River South, Asuquo Ekpenyong (The Standard)
The annual event was geared towards unifying and strengthening the existing bond shared over the years by the ethnic groups in Calabar. In a bid to promote our rich culture and heritage, the “Nkod Mbok” was birthed, an event that reflects the true identity of the city.
In the spirit of oneness, Mr Asuquo Ekpenyong called for unity and togetherness as we all relish in the good memories of the Beautiful City of Calabar and stressed that we should all strive to protect our culture and heritage irrespective of Political party affiliation.
The event witnessed display of different masquerades with the revered Ekpe leading the pack.
One Calabar Forever
