Congratulations to the 2024 Prince Otu Cup winners, a secondary school football competition featuring teams from all 18 Local Government Areas of Cross River State.

– First Position: Govisco, Ikom Local Government – ₦500,000
– Second Position: Purity Foundation School, Biase Local Government – ₦300,000
– Third Position: Government Secondary School, Ogoja Local Government – ₦200,000
The cash prizes were donated by Playcope, a company specializing in football prediction, as part of its support for youth sports development. The funds were handed over to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Sports Development, Hon. Ekanem Ekpenyong

Presentations of the Cash prizes to the 2024 Prince Otu Cup winners was done by the Playcope Representative who was present. He presented the prize during the grand finale at UJ Esuene Stadium.

Governor’s Message:
Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Prof. Owan Enoh praised the initiative, acknowledging Senator Eteng Jonesfor championing the tournament and promoting young athletes. He commended the Sports Development Commission for bringing the vision of nurturing young talents into reality.
The Governor extended his congratulations to all participating teams, particularly Govisco, the champions, for their outstanding performance. He expressed optimism that future international sports stars would emerge from such tournaments and promised continued support for sports development across the state.
Special Adviser’s Vote of Thanks:
Hon. Ekanem Ekpenyong, Special Adviser on Sports Development, expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, local governments, and sponsors who contributed to the success of the tournament. He specifically thanked Senator Eteng Jones for his commitment to youth empowerment through sports.
