Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has expressed confidence that residents of the state will vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election to ensure the continuation of his administration’s development projects.
Yusuf’s statement highlights his position that the continuation of ongoing development initiatives is an important consideration ahead of the next presidential election.
The governor’s remarks come as political parties and their leaders begin positioning themselves for the 2027 polls, with governance, infrastructure, economic conditions and public welfare expected to feature prominently in political discussions.
Tinubu’s administration has pursued several policy initiatives and development programmes since assuming office in May 2023. However, whether these efforts will translate into electoral support in Kano will depend on voters’ assessments of the administration and the issues that matter most to them.
The 2027 general election is expected to be a major political contest, particularly in Kano, one of Nigeria’s most populous states and an influential electoral centre in the North.
Yusuf’s prediction reflects his confidence in Tinubu’s prospects in the state, although the eventual outcome will be determined by voters at the ballot box.
The report follows Yusuf’s remarks on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, when he represented Tinubu at the commissioning of sections of the Zaria–Kano Highway. He praised the Federal Government’s infrastructure projects, including road construction and rehabilitation, and expressed confidence that Kano residents would support the President in 2027.
