Akorokpor Linus congratulates Gov Otu on victory at Tribunal

Akorokpor Linus, has congratulated Governor of Cross River State Senator prince Bassey Otu on his victory at the Election Petition tribunal Court, which delivered its verdict on Tuesday in Calabar.

Reacting to the court verdict, Akorokpor Linus said All Progressives Congress (APC) members across Cross River State and Governor Otu, worked very hard for the victory enjoyed at the march 18, Governorship election, noting that today’s Court’s decision, has affirmed the will of over 258,619 who voted for the Governor Bassey Otu.

Akorokpor Linus in a statement issued on Tuesday at the election petition tribunal today in calaba, said Cross Riverians had spoken through the ballots and the Court has also validated the citizens’ decision by today’s judicial pronouncements.

Akorokpor said: “What we are witnessing today is the beauty of democracy and the rule of law. We had an election in March 18 this year where over 258,619 Cross Riverians voted to elect Senator prince Bassey Otu as the Executive Governor of Cross River State.

“We ordinarily thought that the losers should have displayed good spirit of sportsmanship by congratulating the winner (Governor Otu) but they chose to contest the election results, which is within their rights. Now that election and the results have been upheld by the Court. I hope they would do the needful.

“I congratulate my Sweet Senator prince Bassey Otu , Governor of Cross River State on his well deserved victory at the Election petition Tribunal Court.

“I also congratulate the leadership and members of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, and all Cross Riverians at home and in the Diaspora on this very landmark judicial victory.”

Akorokpor Linus, enjoined Cross Riverians across party divide to team up with Governor Otu to deliver the real dividends of democracy to Cross Riverians through the Renewed Hope agenda of the incumbent administration, saying today’s judicial verdict is victory for democracy and the rule of law.

Signed
Mr Akorokpor Linus
