The commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, CRS Dr Helen A. Isamoh- Egodo visited a brave warrior, Madam Egwu
From Erei North of Biase LGA, CRS who is fighting her way through cancer, at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), Calabar.
Walking into the hospital room, Dr Egodo was greeted by a warm smile that radiated hope and determination. Despite challenges it was clear to see that her spirit remains unbreakable.
She revealed that the conversation, reminded her of the power of human connection. They laughed, shared stories and found solace in each other’s presence. It’s amazing how a simple visit can brighten someone’s day and provide a much-needed boost of positivity.
Dr Egodo expressed her appreciation to the incredible healthcare professionals who work tirelessly to provide the best care possible, whose dedication and compassion are truly commendable as they go above and beyond to ensure that patients receive the support they need on this challenging journey.
She further emphasized that cancer affects not only the individual battling it but also their loved ones and that It is important that we show our support to those fighting this disease; Whether it’s a visit, a kind message or a small act of kindness, every gesture matters.
“To all those who are currently fighting cancer, you are not alone, we stand with you every step of the way”, Dr. Egodo Concluded.
