Prof Florence Obi; Gender Studies Association Of Nigeria (GSAN), Honours The University Of Calabar\’S Vice Chancellor With The Award Of Fellow
Prof. Florence Banku Obi, the amiable Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, had earlier today received an Award of Fellow, solely in recognition of her penchant for encouraging affirmative actions.
Prof. Patience Nwamuo, President of the Gender Studies Association of Nigeria, ably represented by a Fellow of the apex gender body, Prof. Akon Esu, acknowledged Prof Florence Obicombatant roles in championing the cause of every girl child and women in the academic sector, as an epitome of her elevation to the status of a Gender Crusader and unequivocally qualified her for the award.

While being conferred the award, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, was applauded for the gender friendly image she has bestowed upon the University, which portrays her as a woman of substance, equity, and integrity.

Prof. Banku Obi, in her remarks, expressed her elation while receiving the award. She pledged to positively and radically promote Gender development in future, by setting a path for more noble women to follow.
She appreciated the efforts of the Association by giving a speech which tintinnabulates gloriously, an avalanche of promises and encouraged the leadership of GSAN to continue the good work.
