UNICAL SUSPEND ALL STUDENT ELECTIONS
It has become pertinent to suspend all elections by student associations in the University of Calabar until the conclusion of ongoing examinations.
The instructions stated as UNICAL SUSPEND ALL STUDENT ELECTIONS was at a result of urgency to avoid distraction by students caused by elections, and the necessity of re-directing attention fully to their academics, which is the cardinal interest of the University.
Please, note that, all processes that have already been carried out in preparation for approved elections by Student Affairs remain valid.
Also, no student shall be disqualified nor shall any existing structure duly put in place for purposes of election be dissolved on the basis of this directive.
When examinations for the semester are concluded as scheduled, all electoral activities will resume after due approval.
This directive takes effect from Saturday, 10th August 2024.
All concerned should be guided accordingly.
