NowNow Dispatch, a trailblazing errands and delivery company, has received the highly coveted Silver Award for Startup Innovation from the Cross River State Government. This prestigious recognition was awarded during the maiden edition of the International Cooperation and Investment Summit, which took place on August 31, 2023, at the renowned Calabar International Convention Center. The Governor of Cross River State, ably represented by the Deputy Governor, was present at the event to bestow the honor on the region’s most innovative startup.
NowNow Dispatch’s journey since its establishment in 2018 has been nothing short of remarkable. From its humble beginnings, the company has grown into a major player in the logistics industry, having successfully processed over 100,000 orders to date. With a dedicated workforce of more than 20 staff members, the company continues to provide efficient and reliable delivery services across the state. NowNow Dispatch has processed over N200,000,000 in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) since its inception and generated an impressive N80,000,000+ in revenue in 2023 alone, underscoring its commitment to excellence and growth.
Speaking in an interview shortly after receiving the award, Jesse Effa, the CEO and Founder of NowNow Dispatch, reflected on the company’s achievements and the significance of the recognition.
“This award serves as a strong validation of the hard work and innovation that have become the hallmark of NowNow Dispatch,” Effa said. “When we started in 2018 with just one motorcycle and one rider, our goal was to establish convenience as a way of life by running errands and delivering items to customer’s doorsteps in Calabar. Today, we are proud to say that we’ve exceeded those expectations and are now a vital part of the logistics ecosystem.”
Effa, a 32-year-old gig QA Expert with Directly OnDemand, San Francisco, founded NowNow Dispatch immediately after completing his university education. His vision and leadership have been central to the company’s success, transforming it from a one-man operation into a thriving business recognized for its innovation.
During the interview, Effa also highlighted the importance of technological innovation in driving the company’s growth. “From day one, we focused on leveraging technology to streamline our operations and offer seamless service to our customers,” Effa noted. “This strategy has been key to our growth, enabling us to scale quickly while maintaining high standards of service.”
The International Cooperation and Investment Summit, where the award was presented, brought together government officials, industry leaders, and investors to discuss opportunities for fostering economic development in Cross River State. NowNow Dispatch’s success was a key highlight of the event, showcasing how innovative startups can make a significant impact on the local economy.
NowNow Dispatch’s Silver Award for Startup Innovation underscores the company’s growing influence in the logistics sector and reaffirms its commitment to excellence. As the company continues to expand, its focus remains on providing high-quality services that address the unique needs of its customers.
