Felicitation Message to Nigeria on the Occasion of its 64th Independence Day

On behalf of the International Human Rights Protection Service and in my capacity as the Special Envoy to West Africa, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Nigeria as they celebrate the 64th anniversary of their independence.

Nigeria’s journey since 1960 has been marked by significant milestones and challenges, yet the resilience and unwavering spirit of its people remain a source of inspiration across the continent and the world. Today, we celebrate not only the freedom and sovereignty that was achieved 64 years ago but also the remarkable strides Nigeria continues to make in fostering unity, peace, and progress.

As we mark this important day, I encourage all Nigerians to continue working towards the shared goal of a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous nation. Let us also remember that the strength of any nation lies in its people’s commitment to justice, human rights, and the rule of law.

I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and the efforts of the Nigerian government in promoting stability, security, and development. May this Independence Day serve as a reminder of the potential that lies within Nigeria, and may it propel the nation toward even greater achievements in the years to come.

Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!

Dr. Charles Omini
Special Envoy to West Africa
