Special Envoy West Africa IHRPS Condemns Attack on EFCC Officials in Anambra State
A recent confrontation between EFCC officials and youths in Anambra State has drawn widespread national and international attention following a violent exchange of gunfire during the commission’s official operations.
The clash resulted in injuries to EFCC officials and tragically claimed the life of one official.

Dr. Charles Omini, the Special Envoy to West Africa on International Human Rights Protection Service, has condemned the attack in its entirety. Speaking upon his arrival in Abuja, Dr. Omini stated:
– The attack represents a “total violation” of the rights of EFCC officials performing their lawful duties.
– He urged Nigerians to support the EFCC’s efforts in combating corruption, which he described as “the highest form of human rights abuse in the country.”
Dr. Omini who vowed to back the EFCC at all levels to ensure their duties are carried out smoothly.
Dr. Omini expressed his commitment to fighting for justice and the rights of EFCC staff injured during the incident.
