Akamkpa 8th Legislative Council Inaugurates New Committee

The Leader of the 8th Legislative Council of Akamkpa Local Government Area, Hon. (Princess) Magdalene Ekpe, presided over the official inauguration of the House Committees during a sitting of the House on February 11, 2025.

The inauguration marks a significant step towards strengthening legislative oversight and governance in Akamkpa LGA. A total of six (6) committees were constituted, with their respective chairpersons as follows:

1. House Committee on Agriculture

   • Hon. Dominic Offiong (Oban Ward) – Chairman

2. House Committee on Works

   • Hon. (Dr.) Alexander Edet (Akamkpa Urban) – Chairman

3. House Committee on Finance and Appropriation

   • Hon. (Engr.) Vincent Ndifon (Ojuk South) – Chairman

4. House Committee on Health and Social Welfare

   • Hon. Ruth Owor (Ikor Ward) – Chairman

5. House Committee on Culture and Tourism

   • Hon. (Prince) Christopher Edet (Mbarakom) – Chairman

6. House Committee on Women Affairs and Gender-Based Issues

   • Hon. (Princess) Angelina Itambom (Awi Ward) – Chairman

During the sitting, Hon. (Princess) Magdalene Ekpe charged the committee chairpersons and members to be proactive, law-abiding, and committed in discharging their legislative duties for the benefit of Akamkpa and its people.
