CRS Marks 2025 World Malaria Day with Awareness Campaign and Free Medical Services in Akamkpa
The Cross River State government, in partnership with Mediatrix Foundation and Lafarge, has marked World Malaria Day at Oban, Akamkpa Local Government Area. The theme for World Malaria Day 2025 is Malaria Ends With Us: Reinvest, Reimagine,Reignite featured the launch of a Malaria Awareness Campaign and the provision of free medical services to the community.
The Honorable Commissioner for Health,CRS , Dr Henry Ajuk represented by Dr Kenneth Takim, Medical Superintendent,General Hospital,Calabar who declared the Event open, Special Assistant to the Governor,Mr Coco-Bassey Esu, President of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN) in Cross River State Dr Minika Higgins Okon and other stakeholders attended the event, which aimed to educate the public on malaria prevention and control measures.
The state government reaffirmed its commitment to reducing the burden of malaria and promoting the health and well-being of its citizens.
This initiative demonstrates the state’s efforts to prioritize healthcare and partner with organizations to achieve health-related goals. The Malaria Awareness Campaign and free medical services are expected to benefit the community and contribute to the state’s overall health development.
