A Journey Of Courage & Purpose-Barr. Victor E. Egba Esq

Barr. Victor E. Egba ESQ graduated from our Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Cross River University of Technology, Okuku Campus, a year before he gained admission in 2016.

He was a well-known and sometimes controversial unionist. It was even alleged that, as an undergraduate, he once wrote a petition that led to the removal of a Faculty Dean.

After completing his project defense in the Department of Human Anatomy, Victor made a bold and surprising decision. In search of purpose and career fulfillment, he returned to secondary school and sat for another WAEC examination asthis time in Arts subjects to the amazement of his colleagues. Not stopping there, he wrote JAMB again and secured admission to study Law at the University of Calabar.

Years later, his determination paid off as he stood tall among the over 5,000 new lawyers who were officially called to the Nigerian Bar.

From UNICROSS, Okuku Campus, UNICAL & Cross River State at large we proudly celebrate Barr. Victor E. Egba (B.Sc. Human Anatomy, UNICROSS; LL.B, UNICAL). His remarkable journey deserves a place in Hall of Fame. Beyond academics, he also served meritoriously as Secretary General of the Students’ Union Government at the University of Calabar, leaving behind an excellent scorecard of leadership and service by organising the Congress of Critical Appraisal that laid the module for the reforms under the Florence Obi’s administration. Fought for the refund of excess charges and midwived the reabsorption of the Students of Engineering, Fine Arts, Mass communication and others who lost accreditation at the time to other courses and faculties and was also a two term SUG Presidential Aspirant.

Congratulations, Sir!
