The Chairman of Calabar Municipal Local Government Council, Apostle Rt. Hon. James Anam, has hosted a Solemn Assembly and Thanksgiving Service to commemorate his One Year Anniversary in Office. The event, held at the council headquarters, was a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to service.
In his opening remarks, Apostle Anam expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for His faithfulness throughout his one year in office. He recalled that his administration began on November 4, 2024, with a solemn assembly dedicated to God, and emphasized that the journey so far had been guided by divine grace.

The Chairman reaffirmed his vision to renovate and improve the council’s facilities for better staff productivity, noting that his leadership remains aligned with the developmental direction of Governor Bassey Otu. He announced progress made in stabilizing the council’s electricity supply through the installation of a new generator and reconnection to PHED, assuring that the light sector would henceforth remain steady.

Apostle Anam encouraged staff to embrace teamwork and constructive contributions instead of criticism, urging everyone to support government efforts with ideas and commitment. “Growth is from God,” he said. “For progress to happen, we must be ready to take little steps and overcome challenges one at a time.” He further assured workers of improved welfare and a more joyful end-of-year celebration as appreciation for their dedication.
Delivering the sermon, Apostle Dr. Ekpe E. Offiong commended the chairman for his faith-driven leadership and made prophetic declarations of promotion, success, and divine wisdom upon him and his team. He expressed gratitude for the chairman’s consistent spiritual and developmental efforts within the council.
The President of Calabar Municipal Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Ndidem Dr. Eta Bassey Eteta, applauded Apostle Anam’s leadership, urging him to continue in the path of goodness and uphold the legacy of good governance. Similarly, the Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Patrick Okon, offered prayerful words of encouragement, urged the chairman’s to have a reflective mechanism in his leadership style and alignment with the Governor Otu “People First” mantra.
The solemn assembly concluded with moments of worship, thanksgiving, and goodwill messages from friends and stakeholders.
