De-Norsemen Kclub International Trustees Petition CAC, Allege Plot To Alter Corporate Record’s

ABUJA – A fresh twist has emerged in the leadership crisis rocking De-Norsemen Kclub International as the Registered Trustees of the organisation have formally petitioned the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Abuja, seeking to prevent what they describe as unauthorised interference with the club’s corporate records.

In a formal caveat dated 16 February 2026 and addressed to the Registrar-General of the CAC, the trustees, through their solicitors, Victor Edim & Associates of Calabar, urged the Commission to block any attempt by individuals or groups to access or alter the association’s official documents without proper authorisation.

The letter, signed by Hon. Chief Victor Edim, Esq., states that the Registered Trustees of De-Norsemen Kclub International, incorporated under Certificate No. 7458, remain the lawful custodians and highest decision-making organ of the body.

According to the Trustees, the current dispute stems from the organisation’s December 2025 elections, which allegedly triggered factional divisions within the club.
“Premised on the above facts, the Registered Trustees… observed that the organisation is factionalised,” the petition read, adding that the Trustees had taken the extraordinary step of suspending the executive committees of both factions in a bid to stabilise the situation.

The decision, the lawyers noted, was published in The Punch newspaper of 12 February 2026.

Allegations of Attempted Alteration

In a more serious allegation, the Trustees claimed that one faction was attempting to question their legitimacy and appoint a fresh set of Trustees, allegedly relying on “patrons” within the CAC to effect changes in the corporate registry.

The caveat specifically requested that no person or group be granted access to the club’s database, certificate of incorporation or any other official documents for the purpose of alteration without the express authorisation of the existing Registered Trustees.

Legal observers say the filing of a caveat is a strategic move designed to alert regulatory authorities to a dispute and forestall administrative changes pending resolution.

Governance and Legal Standing

Under Nigerian law, Registered Trustees of incorporated associations serve as the legal embodiment of the organisation. They hold property in trust, can sue and be sued, and are responsible for safeguarding the association’s legal identity.

By formally notifying the CAC, the Trustees appear to be seeking to protect what they regard as the corporate integrity of De-Norsemen Kclub International amid the unfolding internal conflict.

As at press time, no official response had been issued by the CAC regarding the petition, and representatives of the opposing faction could not be immediately reached for comment.

The unfolding developments suggest that the dispute may ultimately require regulatory clarification, or judicial intervention, to determine the legitimate leadership and corporate control of the organisation.

For now, the caveat signals that the battle for control has moved beyond internal politics and into the legal and regulatory arena.
