The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has officially announced the commencement of applications for its 2026/2027 Foreign Postgraduate (Master’s Degree) Scholarship Programme.
The initiative is part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to strengthen human resource development in the Niger Delta region by equipping young people with advanced skills and global exposure. The programme is also designed to enhance participation in the Federal Government’s local content agenda and position beneficiaries to compete internationally in their respective professions.

NDDC scholarship 2026 2027 Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be indigenes of the Niger Delta region
- Possess a First Class or Second Class Upper Division degree
- Be below 40 years of age
Application Process
Interested candidates are required to apply online via the official NDDC portal. After submission, applicants will receive a registration number and are advised to print their acknowledgment slip for reference.
How Selection Process is done NDDC scholarship 2026 2027
The selection will be conducted in stages:
- Initial Application – Online submission through the NDDC website
- Preliminary Shortlisting based on:
- WASSCE/NECO results
- Degree classification
- Local Government identification
- Computer-Based Test (CBT) – To be conducted in Rivers State
- Minimum Score Requirement – Candidates must score at least 70%
- Further Shortlisting – Based on CBT performance
- Final Verification – Conducted through Local Government Areas (LGA) and Community Development Committees (CDC)

- Local Government Identification Letter
- Postgraduate admission letter from a recognized overseas university
- Academic certificates
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate

NDDC Scholarship 2026 Amount.
The scholarship value will be determined based on prevailing exchange rates of the Naira. Preference will be given to candidates from oil-producing communities, provided they meet the required cut-off mark.
The Commission emphasized that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and that it reserves the sole discretion in the selection process. Deferment, change of institution, or course is not permitted.
