A 300-level Biomedical Engineering student of Federal University of Technology, Owerri, identified simply as Josh, was allegedly tortured in his hostel by members of the Man O’ War group for reportedly cooking at midnight.
The incident has sparked outrage among students, with several alleging that members of the group have continued to intimidate and harass residents within the hostel environment.
Many students described the alleged assault as excessive and unacceptable, calling on the university management to urgently investigate the matter and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
They also urged the authorities of Federal University of Technology, Owerri to intervene swiftly to prevent further cases of intimidation and protect students’ welfare on campus.
