President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 general election after recording a sweeping victory in the party’s primary election.
Tinubu secured about 10.9 million votes to defeat his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, who polled 16,503 votes in the nationwide exercise.
The outcome further strengthens Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office as he prepares to represent the APC in the 2027 presidential election.
According to party officials, the primary election was conducted across the country under the supervision of APC electoral committees, with delegates and party members participating in the process.
Supporters of the president described the victory as a strong endorsement of his administration and leadership, while party leaders expressed confidence in the APC’s chances ahead of the 2027 polls.
