Luka Modric Could Return to Real Madrid in Any Role After Retirement

Real Madrid legend Luka Modric could make an emotional return to the club after retirement, with reports suggesting the Croatian midfielder would be welcomed back in any position he desires.

According to Diario AS, the Spanish giants are prepared to keep the door open for Modric once he decides to end his illustrious playing career, potentially after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 40-year-old has become one of the most iconic players in Real Madrid history since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012. Over the years, Modric has played a crucial role in one of the club’s most successful eras, winning multiple UEFA Champions League and La Liga titles while establishing himself as a fan favorite at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Despite nearing the latter stages of his career, Modric continues to demonstrate his quality and leadership both for club and country. Reports indicate that the midfielder is aiming to remain active until the World Cup, where he hopes to represent Croatia one final time on football’s biggest stage.

Real Madrid’s admiration for Modric reportedly extends beyond his playing ability. Club officials are said to value his professionalism, experience, and influence in the dressing room, making him an ideal candidate for a future role within the organization.

While no official position has been discussed publicly, the report claims Modric would be free to choose how he wishes to contribute after retirement, whether in coaching, management, ambassadorial duties, or another role behind the scenes.

The possibility of Modric remaining connected to Real Madrid will undoubtedly excite supporters, many of whom regard him as one of the greatest midfielders ever to wear the famous white shirt.

As speculation continues over his future, one thing appears certain: Luka Modric’s relationship with Real Madrid is far from over.
