Cross River Mourns: Tourism Sector Suffers Another Loss as Prince Ojoi Ekpenyong Uguana Passes On

Written by calabarGist

Cross River State has been thrown into mourning following the death of the Managing Director of the Cross River State Tourism Bureau, Hon. Prince Ojoi Ekpenyong Uguana.

His passing comes barely months after the state lost the former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Abubakar Robert Ewa, whose death created a vacuum in the ministry.

In response to the vacancy left by the late Ewa, the Cross River State House of Assembly on June 24, 2026, screened and confirmed Hon. Obi Ayuk as the new Commissioner for Culture and Tourism.

The successive losses have dealt a significant blow to the state’s tourism sector, with stakeholders mourning the contributions of both late officials to the growth and promotion of Cross River’s culture and tourism industry.

May their souls rest in peace.
