The Executive President of the University of Calabar Students’ Union Government, SUG, His Excellency, Sen. Ebong Vordina Francis, has announced the first batch of official appointments into his administration.
In a notice dated Friday, 27th June 2026, with reference number UNICAL/SUG/PRES/001/2026,the President said the appointments were made in exercise of the powers vested in his office and in accordance with the SUG Constitution.
According to the release, the first batch covers key strategic, administrative, advisory, and operational offices that will form the core management team of the Presidency. The appointees are expected to provide administrative support, strategic advice, operational coordination, media engagement, protocol services, and other forms of assistance for the effective discharge of the administration’s mandate.
Some of the designated offices and appointees include:
1. Chief of Staff to the President – Comr. Abraham Wisdom Emmanuel
2. Deputy Chief of Staff – Comr. Abubakar Princess
3. Chief Security Officer, CSO – Comr. Uke Umunke Aniah
4. Chief Protocol Officer, CPO – Sen. Caleb Alidu
5. Chief Press Secretary, CPS* – Comr. Okonkwo Goodluck
6. Senior Special Adviser on Legal and Constitutional Matters – Hon. Tamunomiete Kuku, Esq.
7. Special Assistant on Student Affairs – Comr. Equehi Manka
8. Special Assistant on Academic Affairs – Comr. Eyo Nsa Okon
9. Special Assistant on NANS – Hon. Robinson Ekpo Bassey
10. Presidential Media and Documentation Officer, PMDO – Comr. Metu Josiah Somtochukwu
A total of 20 offices were announced in the first batch, cutting across security, protocol, media, legal, academic, gender, and inter-departmental affairs.
The President directed all appointees to report to the Office of the President for the collection of their appointment letters and further briefing on their duties and responsibilities. He also congratulated them and called for commitment, loyalty, and dedicated service toward advancing the SUG and the welfare of UNICAL students.
