Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has threatened legal action against Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, demanding N10 billion in damages over what he described as false and defamatory allegations linking him to murder, bribery, and other criminal activities.
According to a letter dated July 6, 2026, and obtained by The PUNCH, the pre-action notice was issued by Gbajabiamila’s legal representatives, Pinheiro LP, and signed by Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Kemi Pinheiro.
The letter accused Adeyemi of making and circulating defamatory statements that allegedly portrayed the Chief of Staff as being involved in serious criminal offences. Gbajabiamila’s legal team maintained that the claims are entirely false, malicious, and intended to damage his reputation.
The lawyers further argued that the allegations have subjected the presidential aide to public ridicule, embarrassment, and reputational harm both within Nigeria and internationally.
As part of the demands, Adeyemi was asked to immediately retract the alleged defamatory statements, issue an unreserved public apology in national newspapers and on the same platforms where the claims were published, and pay N10 billion as compensation for the alleged damage caused.
The legal team warned that failure to comply with the demands within the stipulated period would leave Gbajabiamila with no option but to institute legal proceedings to seek redress.
The development follows allegations reportedly made by Adeyemi, who has been associated with what Gbajabiamila’s lawyers described as a “fake agency,” accusing the Chief of Staff of murder, bribery, and other criminal misconduct—claims the presidential aide has firmly denied.
