# Newcastle Agree Deal to Sign Amad Dedić from Benfica
Newcastle United have reached an agreement with Benfica to sign Bosnian fullback Amad Dedić, with the player set to become one of the latest additions to the club’s squad.
The deal is understood to be worth €35 million, including the agreed package between the two clubs. A sell-on clause has also been included as part of the agreement.
Dedić had already agreed personal terms with Newcastle several days ago, and negotiations between the clubs have now been successfully concluded.
Benfica were keen to keep the Bosnian defender, but Dedić made it clear that joining Newcastle was his priority. The player is reportedly eager to begin a new chapter in England and work under Newcastle’s new head coach, Matthias Jaissle.
The 24-year-old is expected to provide additional quality and versatility at fullback as Newcastle continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
With the agreement now in place, the remaining formalities and medical process are expected to follow before Dedić officially completes his move to St James’ Park.
Newcastle’s agreement for Dedić represents another significant investment as the club continue their plans to build a competitive squad under Jaissle.
