Benfica Agree Deal to Sign João Palhinha From Bayern Munich
The Eagles have reached a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich to sign Portuguese midfielder João Palhinha, with the deal now verbally completed between the two clubs.
According to the latest information, Benfica will pay €14 million in fixed fees for Palhinha, with a further €5 million available in add-ons, taking the potential total value of the transfer to €19 million.
The agreement was reached today, with both Benfica and Bayern now preparing the final paperwork. All necessary documents are expected to be exchanged within the next 24 hours as the transfer moves toward completion.
Palhinha is set to return to Portuguese football after his spell in Germany with Bayern. The defensive midfielder previously established himself as one of Portugal’s leading players during his time at Sporting CP before earning a move to the Premier League.
His arrival would provide Benfica with additional strength and experience in midfield as they prepare for the new season.
With the club-to-club agreement now in place, attention turns to the completion of the formal documents and the remaining steps before Palhinha can officially become a Benfica player.
