The Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has condoled with the family of Ndifreke Sylvester over the collosal loss of their four children as a result of landslide attack on their building.

The Governor who was represented by the Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Janet Ekpenyong at the General Hospital Calabar, could not hide her emotions as she was seen visibly weeping over the unrepairable damages suffered by the Ndifreke\’s family.

According to the DG, this has been one of the most terrific news she has heard as she promised to keep a day to day watch on the survivals and ensure that , best practices are carried out on the survivals all through their stay in the General Hospital.

She further promised the family of Government\’s commitment to ensure that, their welfare and those of the surviving Children will be well taken care of at all times .

\”This is a very sad news to behold, waking up to hear of this quantum loss and unimaginable circumstances has left me devastated all day.
It\’s not easy to loose a loved one talk more of having four of your children killed in one day, the Governor and his dear wife , Senator Ben and Dr Linda Ayade sympathizes with the family and that is why they have sent me here to come visit the family, provide both medical and welfare Support and to see that, the two surviving kids are doing well and responding to treatment.

Surely, we will pay all their medical bills and we will relate with our sister agencies to see that their house is being worked upon and made comfortable for them to live in again, both the man and the woman require some mental and psychological check and will see to their well being concerning that\”.

The said unfortunate incident which occured at Okong-Mbang village, off Nasarawa Community Road, 8 miles Calabar left residents and family members devastated and will remain a horror to the affected family for years to come.

They had woken up to a sad reality of immeasurable loss to lives and properties and ever since the landslide in cross river, have remained devastated as expressed in their facial looks and uncoordinated behavior since the incident on July 11th 2022.

According to eye witnesses , the collapsed building was as a result of heavy downpour which had created a raven-like formation on the land and caused tree uproot which fell on the affected building, killing four out of the total 6 Children in the house with the disabled husband and wife excaping.
