Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has denied receiving $2.1 million from businessmen over a disputed land transaction in Abuja, insisting that his signature on a document linking him to the deal was forged.
Jordan, a lawyer, made the denial on Wednesday while being cross-examined before Justice Silvanus Oriji of the FCT High Court in Maitama, Abuja.
The case, marked CV/008/2026, was instituted by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, who are seeking to recover the alleged payment over a failed property transaction.
During proceedings, Jordan maintained that he neither received money from the claimants nor signed any document relating to the alleged land deal.
He also denied knowing an individual identified as Onor Sandy, whom the claimants alleged accompanied him when the money was handed over.
“I did not receive any money from anybody. I did not sign any document for land deal. I only found out that my signature was on the land document, just like anyone else in this court yesterday,” he told the court.
### What the Claimants Alleged
The claimants alleged that they first met Jordan in London before reconnecting in Abuja, where they sought his assistance in facilitating the acquisition of land in the FCT.
According to their account, the proposed transaction involved 30 hectares of land in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape.
They claimed Jordan demanded $2.1 million as a facilitation fee, allegedly comprising $2 million intended for his father, the FCT minister, and $100,000 as his personal fee.
The claimants further alleged that the money was delivered in cash on September 26, 2025, in the presence of Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki and Sai Wani.
However, Jordan has disputed the allegations, maintaining that he had no business relationship with the claimants and was outside Nigeria around the time of the alleged payment.
### Court Fixes New Dates for Hearing
In an earlier proceeding, the court ordered Jordan to produce his American passport to support his claim that he was outside the country on the date of the alleged transaction.
He subsequently presented the passport, with the court permitting a photocopy to remain on record while the original was returned to him, subject to further production when required.
Justice Oriji has adjourned the case to December 1, 2 and 14, 2026, for continuation of trial.
The allegations remain before the court, and the case is yet to be determined.
