Written by calabarGist

In a significant move to strengthen the grassroots mobilisation machinery of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akpet/Abini Ward ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Ward Leader of the party, Engr. Evong Moduck Evong, has donated a bus to the APC family to support movement, grassroots mobilisation, and campaign activities across Akpet Central and surrounding communities.

The presentation of the bus took place during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting of APC Akpet Central held yesterday, where party leaders, stakeholders, elders, and loyal party members gathered to review the party’s preparedness and strengthen its structure ahead of the 2027 elections. The donation is expected to enhance the movement of party members, campaign teams, volunteers, and supporters while facilitating stronger engagement with communities across the ward.

Prominently branded with the “5 Over 5” campaign message and featuring the images of APC leaders and candidates from the Presidency down to the State House of Assembly, the bus represents more than a means of transportation. It serves as a visible demonstration of the ward leadership’s commitment to strengthening the party’s campaign machinery and ensuring effective grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.

Among the prominent personalities at the meeting were the APC Ward Leader, Engr. Evong Moduck Evong; Ward Chairman, San Otei Epom Obu; former Ward chairman, Mr. Franklin Egbai; Hon. Statilus Amang Ikenga; Dr. Ojobe O. Egbai; Mr. Moduck Samson Evong; Mr. Ojah Ojah Igri; and several other stakeholders and committed members of the APC family.

Outside the presentation, the meeting was convened to strengthen internal coordination, consolidate the party’s grassroots structures, deepen engagement with voters, and develop effective strategies capable of positioning the APC for a decisive victory in 2027.

*Ward Leader Calls for Unity and Grassroots Mobilisation:*

Addressing the gathering, Ward Leader Engr. Evong Moduck Evong emphasised the importance of unity, discipline, and collective commitment among APC members, particularly as the people of Akpet Central prepare for the forthcoming elections.

He urged party faithful to remain organised and united around the party’s candidates, stressing that the objective should not merely be to win but to secure a convincing victory that reflects the strength, unity, and political will of the people. He further charged stakeholders and supporters to take the APC message directly to the grassroots, engage voters across the various communities, and properly communicate the achievements and programmes of the APC-led administration.

*Ward Chairman Reaffirms Party Unity:*

The Ward Chairman, San Otei Epom Obu, appreciated the stakeholders and party members who attended the meeting and encouraged members to recognise that electoral participation extends beyond voting on election day. He urged party faithful to remain actively involved in voter mobilisation, grassroots engagement, and the protection of the party’s votes, stressing the importance of ensuring that every vote secured for the APC is properly accounted for.

The Ward Chairman reaffirmed the strength and unity of the APC in Akpet/Abini Ward, noting that the party remains firmly committed to following the direction of its established leadership and political structure. He also assured members that the ward leadership would continue to mobilise the existing party structure towards ensuring that the people benefit from good governance and that all APC candidates receive the necessary support to succeed at the polls.

*Stakeholders Highlight Otu Administration’s Interventions:*

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Statilus A. Ikenga, Dr. Ojobe O. Egbai, Mr. Moduck S. Evong, Pastor Ojah O. Igri, Mr. Ben Aho, Mr. Otei Amang, and Pastor Ojei Ojei, among others, took turns to highlight various interventions and developmental strides of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, particularly those they said have impacted communities and residents across Akpet. The speakers called on the people to recognise and appreciate the administration’s efforts while emphasising the need for sustained support for the APC as the party moves towards the 2027 elections.

They stressed that the task ahead requires collective responsibility, sustained grassroots mobilisation, effective communication, and a united political front. They therefore encouraged members to remain committed to the party and work collectively towards achieving the 5/5 objective in the forthcoming elections.

*A Renewed Campaign Momentum:*

The presentation of the campaign bus added further significance to the gathering, with party members describing the gesture as a practical demonstration of the ward leadership’s commitment to strengthening the APC’s mobilisation and campaign operations.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with members expressing renewed confidence, unity, and determination to work together towards the success of the party and its candidates in 2027.

The message from the Akpet Groups of Villages remains clear: 5/5 VICTORY COME 2027.
