The traditional ruler of Moko-Ama in Bayelsa State, His Royal Highness Moses Theophilus Kenibara VII, has reportedly died at the age of 64 following complications allegedly linked to a liposuction procedure.
The monarch, popularly known as the Amadabo of Moko-Ama, hailed from the Sangana community in the Akassa Kingdom, Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Reports of his death emerged around October 8 and 9, 2026, prompting tributes from people who described him as a committed traditional ruler who worked to promote peace, unity and community development across the Niger Delta.
Beyond his traditional position, Kenibara VII served as Chairman of the Akassa Clan Council of Chiefs and Chairman of the Central Zone of the Ijaw National Congress (INC).
He was crowned the Amadabo of Moko-Ama in 2016 and subsequently became an influential figure in traditional leadership and community affairs within the Akassa Kingdom.
During his tenure, the monarch advocated unity among traditional institutions and supported initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation among royal houses. He was also recognised for his contributions to peacebuilding and efforts to improve the welfare of his people.
His reported death has sparked mourning among those who knew him and members of the wider Ijaw community, with tributes highlighting his commitment to peaceful coexistence and grassroots development.
However, details surrounding the alleged liposuction procedure, the medical circumstances of his death and his burial arrangements had not been officially confirmed in the reports reviewed as of the time of this publication.
