Fresh speculation about the relationship between Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, and his wife, Natasha Osawaru, has emerged after the Edo State lawmaker introduced herself without using the singer’s surname during a legislative session.
In a video circulating on social media on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Natasha identified herself as “Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru” while addressing members of the Edo State House of Assembly.
She also spoke in her capacity as the lawmaker representing Egor Constituency and the Minority Leader of the Assembly.
Her introduction attracted attention online because she did not include the Idibia surname, which has previously featured in her public identity.
The development has fuelled speculation about the state of her relationship with 2Baba, particularly following reports that she was absent from the singer’s 51st birthday celebration and album listening party in Lagos.
The couple’s relationship has attracted considerable public attention since 2Baba confirmed their romance in 2025, following his separation from actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia.
However, neither Natasha nor the singer has publicly confirmed that they have separated over the latest developments.
During the legislative session, Natasha also contributed to discussions on a proposed bill aimed at strengthening emergency response in Edo State.
She described the bill as timely, citing challenges such as flooding, erosion, fire outbreaks, building collapses and communal crises.
The lawmaker argued that the state needed a stronger legal framework to improve preparedness and responses to emergencies.
For now, Natasha’s decision to introduce herself using the Osawaru surname has continued to generate reactions, although it does not independently establish that the couple’s relationship has ended.
