Alex Pereira Says Josh Hokit Would Have Been an Easier Fight Than Sergei Pavlovich

UFC superstar Alex Pereira has admitted that he would have preferred to face Josh Hokit rather than Sergei Pavlovich, describing the potential matchup against Hokit as a much easier fight.

Pereira made the admission while discussing his next challenge, explaining that coming off a defeat would have made a less demanding opponent a more sensible option.

According to the Brazilian, Hokit would have presented a considerably easier challenge compared to Pavlovich, who is regarded as a dangerous heavyweight with significant knockout power.

“If I were coming back off a loss, fighting [Hokit] would definitely be a much easier fight. Instead, I’m going to fight the Russian, Pavlovich, which is a much harder fight,” Pereira said.

He added that choosing Hokit would have made more sense if his priority was to return from a loss against a less difficult opponent.

“Coming off a loss, it made more sense for me to take the easier fight, which would be against Hokit.”

Pereira’s comments highlight the challenge he believes awaits him against Pavlovich, with the Brazilian seemingly acknowledging that the Russian presents a much tougher test.

Rather than taking what he considers the easier option, Pereira is preparing for a more demanding challenge against one of the heavyweight division’s most dangerous fighters.
