NANS Visits Commander Headquarters 13 Brigade, Nigeria Army, Akim Barracks Calabar

NANS VISITS COMMANDER HEADQUARTERS 13 BRIGADE, NIGERIA ARMY, AKIM BARRACK CALABAR, CROSS RIVER STATE.

Following on our promise to serve Nigerian students better, my team and I paid a courtesy visit to the commander,  Headquarters 13 Bridage Nigeria Army , Brigade General E L okoro.
The meeting was centered on;

• Soliciting for Strategic presence and patrols on flash point areas around Schools Environment.

• A proposed partnership with the command to organize Security Education and Leadership Summit.

The Financial secretary of National Association of Nigeria Students, NANS South South region, Amb. Comr. Icha Godswill has lauded the effort of the Commander, and principal officers of the Headquarters 13 Brigade, Nigeria Army – calabar, Brigadier General E L okoro towards ensuring a relative peace in the state.

The financial secretary of the students zonal leadership, while commending the commander\’s effort in the area of security of Cross river State students and its citizens further solicited the command engagement by setting strategic patrols and stations around schools environment.

Amb. Comr. Icha Godswill listed areas of interest to include, ekpo Abasi round about where we have Unicross main gate,  Etagbor by Main gate where the University of calabar is situated, Goldie Mount Zion junction where we have another entrance to University of Calabar, State college of health technology main gate and in other tertiary institution in cross river State.

The NANS financial secretary stressed on the need  for  strategic patrol and stations around these environment \”  this period which is an election season, therefore it is important to build up more security around schools environment and on campus to secure the life of Nigerian students.\”

He, Amb. Comr Icha Godswill also proposed a partnership for Security Education summit for Nigerian Students in cross river State and the zone at large.

Responding to Amb. Comr. Icha Godswill proposals, Brigadier. General EL okoro thanked the leadership for taking security paramount as it is everyone\’s business, while assuring the Financial Secretary of his support and that of the command as well as  partnership of the brigade with the union on the summit.

Furthermore, the commander added that the request of the Financial secretary was not out of place, as the command is ever ready to patrol these environment time to time to ensure absolute peace is maintained in Cross River State.
