UNICAL SECURITY NABS 3-MAN GANG.

A member of a 3-man robbery gang, Kinghope Ubi, specializing in phone snatching has been nabbed by personnel of the eagled eyed Security Department of the University of Calabar.

Parading the said Kinghope Ubi who claimed to be an indigene of Ugep, the acting Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the University, Rtd Supol Usani Okon said the suspect was apprehended while trying to rob 2 persons of their phones near the ICT building on campus.

According to the CSO (unical security), efforts are in top gear to apprehend the other members of the gang currently at large.

The suspect, who also claimed to have been admitted into the department of tourism in 2016 but, rusticated in 2019 gave the names of his gang members as Emmanuel Ojong, allegedly, a student of tourism and Victor Clinton with no clear designation.

The gang is said to have accosted Ephraim Akomaye, a student of Uniport, spending the strike period with his cousin, Julius Akwagiobe, a 200 level student of Environmental Education, robbing the duo of their Techno Camon 16 Premium and Techno Spak 4 phones respectively.
