Dr Ekpenyong Writes Women on the Occasion of the International Women\’s Day Celebration
The Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Janet Ekpenyong has written a heart felt message to women to celebrate with them on the 2022 International Women\’s Day, March 8th 2022
The DG Dr Ekpenyong in her message encouraged younger females to continue to strive hard in other to achieve their life long goals which will give them advantage over their contemporaries In this competing era.
Today is another opportunity to celebrate the International Women\’s Day and it is an opportunity to for us all to reflect on the roles women play in making the world a better place for all to live in.
Women globally are living up to expectations in their daily demands and necessities both Career wise and in their homely duties.
We Women are not just strong, focused and dedicated, the act of multitasking even combining unrelated duties is one attribute that has created a balance between family, career and passion, to this effect, most women get to satisfy everyone around them even at the expense of their own happiness.
Today , we have women who have broken barriers and taken control in so many male dominated jobs across the globe, including the state\’s first lady, Dr Linda Ayade whose professionalism earned her numerous accolades in Nigeria and the diaspora.
Our women have been phenomenal in the dispatch of their duties and with evidence, the Cross River State Government is female dominated with all of the pivot ministries and agencies headed by women.
All these won\’t have been possible without an \”Unbiased\” leader, our Governor, His Excellency, Senator Prof Ben Ayade, the He-for-She Governor and his dear wife Dr Linda Ayade, who\’s belief and trust in the capability and capacity of women has remained unshaken, as reflected in the number of women he appointed into Government.
I want to use this medium to encourage our girl, the young ones who will take over the role of leadership in our dear state in the coming years, to begin to build a foundation for themselves by acquiring knowledge, remaining focused and dedicated to their Career paths, with absolute discipline knowing that , they can\’t afford to disappoint themselves, families and nation.
As an Agency of Government, (Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency) , we are encouraged to \”Break the Bias\” in leadership roles therefore, we will continue to push for equal roles or even greater than the affirmative percentage to ensure that, more women are empowered and their hard work rewarded.
We will continue to pressure the Federal Government, development partners and all stakeholders to make all services free for our women especially those in the rural Communities to encourage them to patronize health facilities which will in turn reduce maternal mortality in our dear state\”.
Once again , Happy International Women\’s Day and together , we will #BreakTheBias
