Aiyedatiwa Makes Fresh Appointments, Here’s Who Got What

Written by Mary Bassey

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved a fresh round of political appointments as part of efforts to strengthen his administration and improve service delivery across the state.

The latest appointments include one commissioner, three special advisers and 1,000 political aides.

The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, saying the 1,000 aides comprise 90 Senior Special Assistants and 910 Special Assistants.

Erelu Taibat Yemi Oloruntoba, from Akoko North-West Local Government Area, was also nominated as Commissioner for Special Duties.

Her nomination has been forwarded to the Ondo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The appointments come months after Governor Aiyedatiwa announced plans to bring in about 1,000 new political aides drawn from the 203 wards across the state’s 18 local government areas. The earlier move was described by the administration as an effort to strengthen coordination and inject fresh capacity into governance.

The latest appointments are expected to further expand the governor’s political and administrative structure, particularly at the grassroots level.

Aiyedatiwa’s administration said the appointments are aimed at strengthening governance, improving coordination and enhancing service delivery to residents across Ondo State.
