APC National Group Throw Support For Asuquo Ekpenyong : Orok Duke Should Be Caution
It is no doubt that Cross River is blessed with great men and women, doing well in their different chosen careers and endeavor especially those within the youth age bracket.
A good example of such a great young individual whom has distinguished himself in his chosen career and political landscape of the state is Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong.
With a record of being the youngest senator in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong has established himself as a successful financial expert in his private endeavor and also a prudent, accountable and transparent public servant as commissioner in the state whose records and antecedents speak volume. His life as a humanitarian and cheerful giver has written his name in the heart of the people of the state especially those from his senatorial district, hereby making him a precious gift to his people.
It is rather surprising that someone would descend so low into cheap propaganda against such a man of integrity and honesty as Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong. The false claim by the representative of NDDC in the state against Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong is not only baseless but also an agenda in futility. The claim by Orok Duke to see the distribution list of December palliative beneficiaries by Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong is not only childish but also an indication of his disconnection with the people. He should be guided and know that the people of the state know better.
This cheap blackmail from Orok Duke is not unconnected with the coming election in which he has been going around painting Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong in bad light especially to the governor with a view to ensuring that H.E. Senator Bassey Otu did not support Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong for the party’s ticket. This is the hight of insensitivity on his part as he cannot pull down someone God has raised already.
It is worthy of note that the quality and value of any politician is in his or her popularity, acceptance and influence among the people. This also determines the political relevance of such and in turn, capacity of influencing massive votes turnout for the party. This is the quality of political figure that Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong represents in Cross River State and hence, reason why someone like Orok Duke is uncomfortable with him and ready to rubbish his antecedents which we believe cannot stand.
It is in view of the above that the governor of Cross River State, H.E. Senator Bassey Otu needs to make ît a priority for Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong to get the party ticket against the coming election and jettison all manner of false propaganda coming from Orok Duke. It has been noted that some individuals close to the governor and government are working on making sure that the governor did not support Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong for the next election. This is a total miscalculation that could spell doom for the party, APC in the state.
Funny enough that this Orok Duke of NDDC venturing on this destructive mission is a man of little or no political value compared to Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong in the state. He is surely the real enemy of the governor and APC in Cross River because such an agenda is a plan to unseat the APC in the state at all levels. Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong is not just a senator in Cross River politics but a political figure with great influence on the electorates Nationwide.
Above all, this press release by the National Progressives Hub is only a clarion call to the people’s governor of Cross River State, H.E. Senator Bassey Otu and the good people of the state to kindly disregard any false claim by Orok Duke concerning Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong on any issue regarding whatever has to do with the Christmas palliative as it’s just a pure distraction and propaganda.
Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong deserves the total support of the governor. It is a candid truth that Orok Duke has not good to offer the state and the people, hence his resolve to restore to cheap blackmail against a transparent, honest and accountable representative of the people, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong.
