Dr Betta Edu, Director of Women Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to sponsoring executive bills aimed at improving women’s representation in elective and appointive positions in Nigeria.
Edu also reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening grassroots engagement and mobilising women across the country, expressing confidence that increased female participation would contribute to political and democratic development.

President Tinubu had assured Nigerian women of his support for the proposed bills, which seek to improve women’s representation in the National Assembly and at the subnational level.
The President gave the assurance during the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he acknowledged the significant role women play in political mobilisation and democratic development.
“You women are the greatest mobilisers and foot soldiers of our democracy,” Tinubu said.
He encouraged women leaders to intensify advocacy for the six proposed bills, expressing optimism about their prospects.
“Go and work for them, and I assure you that they will come to fruition,” the President added.
