ESUT JUPEB Students Raise Alarm Over Alleged N10,000 Payment to Access Results

Written by Mary Bassey

More than 400 students of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) have reportedly raised concerns over their examination results, alleging that they were asked to pay N10,000 to gain access to their results.

The students, according to reports, claimed that a large number of candidates performed poorly in the examination, with some alleging that they were unable to access their results without making the additional payment.

The development has reportedly generated concern among affected students, who are seeking clarification from the university and relevant JUPEB authorities on the circumstances surrounding the results and the alleged payment.

The students are also said to be calling for transparency in the release and access of their results, particularly over claims of widespread failure among candidates.

JUPEB is a national examination body that conducts advanced-level examinations for candidates seeking admission into 200-level university programmes through the Direct Entry route.

As of the time of publication, the specific reasons behind the alleged poor performance and whether ESUT officially approved the N10,000 payment demand could not be independently established.

Affected students are expected to seek further clarification from the university and the JUPEB authorities regarding the matter.
