Leboku Libin is a significant aspect of the Leboku Festival, which is an annual celebration of the Yakurr people of Cross River State in Nigeria.

Leboku Libin refers to the traditional dance performances during the Leboku Festival .
Libin means \”dance\” in the Yakurr language. The Leboku Libin dance is a vibrant and energetic display of cultural heritage, showcasing the rich traditions and customs of the Yakurr people.

The dance performances are usually accompanied by traditional music, singing, and drumming.

Leboku Libin is an integral part of the festival, promoting unity, cultural preservation, and community bonding among the Yakurr people.

Etik Ekomi is an exercise that lasts for six local market days. It is the obligatory donation of palm wine by tappers at the entrance to the routes leading to their farms.

By the midnight of the Mblemi , the sky is usually lit by flames set up in a process called OKONDEL(Night fire) rites .

This rite is very sacred and non initiates of the Okondel are not expected to witness the process. The Obol lopon is expected to signal the beginning of the exercise by the lighting of the Okondel torch. He usually performs this with his eyes shut and will have to find his way to his palace groping through the dark night.
