Written by calabarGist

The City Boy Movement (CBM) is set to hold a major grassroots mobilisation rally in the Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku (OBO) Federal Constituency of Cross River State, in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The rally is being convened by Chief Dr. Martha Agba, National Director of Support Groups, City Boy Movement, and is expected to attract APC leaders, political stakeholders, youths, women, community leaders and supporters from across Obudu, Bekwarra and Obanliku Local Government Areas.

Rally to Mobilise Support for APC Candidates

The gathering is expected to provide a platform for grassroots mobilisation in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, and other APC candidates seeking various elective positions in the forthcoming elections.

Organisers say the rally will also strengthen unity among APC supporters across the OBO Federal Constituency while promoting greater political participation and sustained grassroots engagement.

Martha Agba Champions Grassroots Mobilisation

Through the rally, Dr. Martha Agba is expected to advance the City Boy Movement’s message of political inclusion, grassroots mobilisation and empowerment, with emphasis on strengthening the relationship between government, political leadership and citizens.

The event will also create an avenue for residents across the three local government areas to engage political stakeholders, express their aspirations and demonstrate their support for the APC’s programmes and candidates.

Focus on Youth and Women’s Political Participation

The City Boy Movement has continued to expand its grassroots network across communities, with particular attention to mobilising youths and women to participate actively in the political process.

According to the organisers, the OBO Federal Constituency rally is expected to go beyond a conventional political gathering to become a demonstration of grassroots solidarity and collective commitment to the APC and its candidates.

Supporters from Obudu, Bekwarra and Obanliku are being encouraged to participate in the rally and join the movement’s campaign for grassroots engagement under the slogan:

“Engage! Inform!! Empower!!!”

With political leaders, stakeholders and supporters expected from across the federal constituency, the rally is projected to be a significant grassroots mobilisation event ahead of the 2027 general elections in Cross River State.
