Mike Etaba Visited The Warring Community (Ovonum) To Preach Peace.

Obubra/Etung Federal State Constituency Representative Hon. Mike Etaba was represented by the NYCN-CRS Chairman. Comr. Dan Obo Jnr., who was accompanied by the Deputy National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comr. Innocent, to the warring communities of Ovumum and Ofatura in Obubra local government.

The Town council chairman, Mr. Eyam Enang of Ovonum community, appreciates the state chairman and the deputy national youth council Comr. Innocent Nduanya that came all the way from Abuja. He expresses happiness for having the chairman and his entourage in their community.

The honorable member, Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency Hon. Mike Etaba, who has his people at heart, chose to pay a visit to the Ovonum community. He charges the community leaders and elders of the land to please give peace a chance, as war isn’t a good thing to deal with as a means to solve problems.

He further expressed his reaction to the recent developments in the community, like the NYSC camp and Cross River State University situated on the land. What will the community gain if these developments are taken off, or do these communities not want the community of Ovonum to get new development?

Let’s desist from war; let\’s create development by investing in our youths as a better way to resolve community issues instead of choosing war. He further pleaded with the elders to forgive the youths of today who have seen war as a source to solve problems, not knowing they’re destroying what the elders and parents have built.

Comr. Innocent Nduanya The Deputy National Youth Council of Nigeria appreciates the elders and community leaders for gathering to hear them. He called on the chiefs to please call on the youths in times where communities have issues, urging the youths to please desist from hard drugs and unnecessary activities that will bring setbacks to the local government and communities.

He finally called on the chiefs to see land struggling as a form of distraction to succeed among themselves. The future is bright, and it’s very important to live long to see your children (youths) from this community become the top leaders of the state.

The women\’s leader appreciates the youth council that finds it fit to come to their land in a time like this. She expresses the hardship and insecurity everyone in the community experiences during this season of war, emphasizing Satan\’s influence to destroy their land. It’s important the land come together for peace as it is a normal thing for their children to finish their educational line from 0 level to PhD level.

The high chiefs of the Ovonum community first appreciate the Honourable Mike Etaba for sending state and national representatives at the Youth Council level to their land to foster peace among themselves and the Ofatura community.

He urges them to please tell the Ofatura community that they are tired of war and need peace among themselves. This is aimed at community development and to shun the destruction of properties on the land.

In attendance were the community youths,elders, women, and children.
