Nollywood actress Adebimpe Oyebade, popularly known as Mo Bimpe, has opened up about a painful chapter of her life, revealing how she was once excluded from children-related celebrations because she had not become a mother.
The actress shared the emotional revelation after attending the first birthday celebration of Rakeem Mkambala, the son of Nigerian socialite Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
In an Instagram post, Mo Bimpe said returning home from the celebration brought back memories of a difficult period during her fertility journey.
She revealed that there was a time when she stopped receiving invitations to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children’s birthday parties and other events involving children.
According to the actress, some of the people who excluded her were individuals she knew personally, worked with and cared about.
She said the experience left her wondering what she had done wrong before eventually discovering that some people had deliberately left her out because she did not have children.
Mo Bimpe explained that the rejection was particularly painful because she loved children and only wanted to celebrate important moments with the people around her.
She also highlighted the emotional difficulties associated with trying to conceive, including the waiting, questions, hurtful comments and silent prayers.
The actress urged people to show greater compassion towards women who are yet to have children, stressing that childlessness should never be a reason to exclude anyone from social gatherings.
She said women without children are equally deserving of love, friendship, inclusion and celebration.
Mo Bimpe also used her experience to encourage women currently trying to conceive, reminding them not to lose hope.
The actress and her husband, fellow actor Lateef Adedimeji, welcomed triplet boys in 2026 after years of marriage. Her latest revelation has since sparked conversations about the emotional impact of fertility struggles and the need for greater sensitivity towards women experiencing them.
