The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced November 4, 2026, as the commencement date for the 2026 Batch C Stream II Orientation Course, giving prospective corps members a timeline to prepare for the mandatory one-year national service programme.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Friday and signed by the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu.
According to the statement, the orientation course will begin on Wednesday, November 4, marking the start of the induction programme for prospective corps members in the second stream of the 2026 Batch C mobilisation exercise.
The orientation course is a compulsory component of the NYSC scheme, designed to familiarise corps members with the objectives of the programme, promote national unity and equip participants with basic leadership, discipline and entrepreneurial skills.
During the camp exercise, participants are expected to take part in activities such as physical training, lectures, skill acquisition programmes, social activities and other engagements aimed at preparing them for their service year.
Prospective corps members are advised to follow official NYSC communication channels for further updates on registration, camp requirements, reporting arrangements and other details concerning the orientation exercise.
