The wife of embattled Delta State content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu of Asaba, has spoken out about the controversy surrounding her husband and the late 20-year-old Favour Agbro.
In a video shared on Ogbonna’s social media page, the woman defended her husband and denied the allegation that he raped Agbro.
She claimed that her husband and the deceased had an affair, insisting that the encounter was consensual and that the allegation of rape was untrue.
The woman, whose name was not disclosed, said she remained firmly behind her husband despite the allegations and urged members of the public not to reach conclusions based solely on information circulating on social media.
Her comments come weeks after the Delta State Police Command arrested Ogbonna, 40, over allegations relating to the sexual assault of Agbro.
According to the police, Agbro travelled to Asaba on June 1, 2026, after allegedly being invited by Ogbonna under the promise of receiving training and assistance with monetising her social media platforms.
Police alleged that Ogbonna took the young woman to a hotel, where she was allegedly raped and physically assaulted. Agbro later returned home in a distressed condition and reportedly told her parents about the incident.
The police further said Agbro subsequently recorded a video recounting her alleged ordeal before ingesting a toxic substance. She later died while receiving treatment.
Ogbonna was arrested following a petition over the allegations, while the Delta State Police Command said it had commenced a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case.
Police later stated that the content creator would be charged to court, while stressing that the investigation would establish the full circumstances of the case.
