Oscar Ofuka stands trial at the Magistrate Court in Calabar over a murder case.

On Wednesday, August 7th, Special Adviser to the former governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade, on Cocoa Development, Oscar Ofuka, stood trial at the Magistrate Court, Calabar Moore Road, regarding a murder case charge against him.

 During the appearance of the trial in court, it was noticed that Osca Ofuka had a stroke and couldn’t stand by himself, therefore lying on the floor motionless.

After due argument by the prosecutor and the defending judge, magistrate Okoho ordered that he be taken to the Police Clinic Calabar to access medical care due to his health condition.

After declarations by the magistrate, an interview was conducted with senior lawyer SAN Mba Ukweni about the ongoing case. He alleged that Ofuka’s trial was instigated by the Secretary to the State Government and the State Security Adviser.

 Mba, who states clearly that the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, is using the State Security Adviser, Major General O.U. Obono Rtd., to eliminate his client (Oscar Ofuka),

“There have been various litigations in respect of this. We even have an order from the High Court of Etung.”

He calls on the governor to take note of his staff, who are not working for his success but for their selfish interests. 

He made notice that the coco farm at Etung, where the deceased was killed, was not close to where Ofuka controlled

 At the end of the day, Oscar Ofuka was taken to the police clinic to access good medical healthcare services as the court was adjourned until August 16, 2024.
