RCCG Overseer, Adeboye Confirms Pastor Arrest Abroad For Addressing Congregation As 'Ladies And Gentlemen'

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), confirmed that authorities abroad arrested and detained one of the church’s pastors.

During the church’s monthly thanksgiving service at the RCCG Throne of Grace in Lagos State, Pastor Enoch Adeboye expressed deep concern over the arrest of a church pastor abroad. While delivering his Sunday sermon, titled “My Father’s House,” which was broadcast to all RCCG parishes, Adeboye highlighted the incident.

He did not reveal the pastor’s identity or the country where the detention occurred but issued a stark warning: “The end is nearer than you think.” He emphasized the rapid deterioration of global events, urging the congregation to see this as a wake-up call.

Reasons for Redeem pastor’s Arrest at Abroad

Adeboye explained that the pastor’s arrest followed a complaint of discrimination as some attendees questioned. ” What about those who are neither ladies nor gentlemen ??”

The country’s culture views it as  discriminatory for not recognizing all gender identities.

He also narrated a disturbing encounter involving a woman who referred to a dog as her husband.

Reflecting on the incidents, Adeboye expressed concerns about the decline of moral values globally, saying they are signs of the end times

He said, “Those of you already in Christ, take this matter seriously. Do not let anyone weaken your stance.

“For those still playing in church, singing, clapping, and enjoying things without genuine commitment, remember, Jesus is coming soon”.

“The devil wants to harvest you, but you must not give him the opportunity. I want to see you in my Father’s house.”

RCCG’s overseer Adeboye , known for his stance on national and church-related issues, also criticised men who wear braided hair and women who use false eyelashes and heavy makeup.

He also expressed disapproval of the fashion trends among church workers in his 72nd annual convention in August

And made it clear that such styles would not be tolerated in RCCG alters.
