Sen. Gershom Bassey Send Message To Cross Riverians Concerning The New Government

Distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey representing Cross River south in the 9th senate has appealed to Cross Riverians to be patient with the administration of His Excellency the Governor of Cross River State, Prince Bassey Edet Otu.

He was speaking on the 29thof May, 2023 at the Inauguration Ball to celebrate the swearing-in ceremony of the new Governor Prince Bassey Otu and his deputy Rt. Hon. Peter Odey. According to him a situation where a governor comes to office and the people expect him to do magic is unhealthy. He expressed high hopes that His Excellency Prince Bassey Edet Otu and his deputy Rt. Hon. Peter Odey will do very well in governance.

Sen Gershom Bassey said that for us to maximise what we can get from the new administration, we must allow the governor time to heal the state. He reiterated that actual governance, unlike campaigns, is a serious business and a painstaking one at that. Therefore, he said, \” let us allow him time to bring us from where we are to where we want to get to. Let us give our dear Governor the opportunity to make us proud.\”

Sen. Gershom Bassey informed His Excellency Prince Bassey Edet Otu that Cross River State has great expectations of him and expressed his confidence that the new administration wil do well. He also expressed his confidence that the deputy governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Peter Odey will complement his elder brother, the governor to perform excellently.
