Sergio Busquets Returns to Barcelona as New Assistant Coach
Sergio Busquets is officially beginning a new chapter at FC Barcelona, returning to the club where he built a legendary career.
The former Barcelona and Spain midfielder will join Barcelona Atlètic (Barça B) as an assistant coach, working alongside head coach Juliano Belletti. The move marks Busquets’ first major step into coaching after his retirement from professional football.
Busquets will also continue the process of obtaining his coaching licence as he prepares for a future career on the touchline.
The 37-year-old spent the majority of his illustrious career at Barcelona, making more than 700 appearances for the club and winning numerous major trophies, including multiple LaLiga and Champions League titles.
His return adds another familiar face to Barcelona’s coaching structure and gives the club the opportunity to benefit from the experience and leadership of one of its greatest midfielders.
Working with Belletti at Barça B will allow Busquets to gain valuable coaching experience while developing his tactical and managerial skills.
Barcelona fans will now get to see a familiar figure in a very different role.
From today, it is officially Coach Busquets.
