On October 17, 2024, YouCan-B Initiative held an outreach to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child, coinciding with the birthday of its founder, Blessing Alims.
The event centered on advocating for girls’ and boys’ rights, education, and empowerment, with a focus on this year’s theme, “Girls’ Vision for the Future.”
Activities included paper presentations, partner messages from organizations like YALI-CRS and Girls Power Initiative, entertainment, and a quiz competition that awarded scholarships to five students.
Outstanding teachers were recognized, and informational materials were distributed. Participants were urged to prioritize their goals, resist negative influences, and embrace assertive communication.
