Yala Local Govt. Crisis, NYCN-CRS Chairman Applaud Gov. Otu on recent ACTION towards warring communities

The Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Cross River State Chapter, Comrade Dan Obo Jr., in an interview, applauded the executive governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, on the recent action taken to reduce the rate of communal war ongoing at the Yala local government area between two communities.

The chairman once again said the council has been concerned about communal clashes even before the present administration. Every time these wars occur, the youth are always accused of being the cause of these clashes.

In respect to other known clashes, the council has always called on the youth leaders, chiefs, and stakeholders to settle the crises. Concerning the recent war, the existing deputy youth council representative, Yala, is from the existing communities fighting each other.

The youth council applauds the government for the curfew\’s implementation; at least it will curb activities in the communities and enable the security agencies to be able to notice the challenges.

Dan Obo appeals to the young ones from Yala that there’s no community that developed with the habit of war, stating clearly that it is the responsibility of the youths to take care of the community.
The chairman further explained that Yala is a place of war. This is because the recent crisis is not the first to occur; it has happened before, and the youth council was here at Yala to resolve the matter.

Obo clearly states that the involved communities are aware of the youth council\’s visitation to have a meeting with the youths and chiefs of both communities fighting each other to create a better atmosphere for both communities and to reveal more about the effects of war on the community and children yet unborn.

For him, there\’s no reason people or young ones should see war as a means of settling grievances where there are chiefs, youth leaders, and stakeholders in each of these communities.

As for the youth council, we won’t stop coming on occasions like this to talk and plead with young people on matters related to this communal crisis.
