In a remarkable display of literary prowess and dedication, Daniel Ehis Aiguohkian, a Philosophy student at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), counts a few hours to officially set a Guinness World Record for the longest hours of writing, WRITE-A-THON.

Daniel Ehis Aiguohkian embarked on this extraordinary writing journey on Sunday, 1st October, 2023. At 11am, the timer started ticking. However, it was in the evening of Monday, 2nd October, 2023 that the record-breaking attempt went round the clock the first time. It is expected to hit 188hours tomorrow, Monday, 9th October, 2023, officially concluding the Guinness Marathon writing event.

In the light of this development, the organisers, do hereby, extend sincere apologies to the public for any mixup regarding the date of conclusion. In the real sense, the 188 hours, from when the WRITE-A-THON started, brings us to Monday, 9th October.

As at the time of this press release, Daniel Ehis Aiguohkian is diligently advancing through his 7th day of continuous writing with the timer ticking towards the 8th day. The sheer dedication demonstrated by Daniel Ehis Aiguohkian is awe-inspiring, as he surpasses the boundaries of conventional endurance.

The WRITE-A-THON has not only showcased the literary talent of this exceptional student but has also become a testament to the strength of human determination and passion for the written word.

The University of Calabar congratulates Daniel Ehis Aiguohkian on this monumental achievement, and looks forward to witnessing the impact of his remarkable contribution to the world of literature.
